a special dedication service was held last week at St Paul's Church,
Alnwick, by kind permission of Father Oliver Keyes. The service was
compiled and conducted by The Reverend Canon Tony Meakin TD, former
Padre to the 7th Battalion The Royal Northumberland Fusiliers and former
Vicar of St Paul's Church. He was assisted by The Reverend Cecil Dick
TD, former Padre of the 6th Battalion The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers,
whose headquarters were in Fenkle Street from 1975 until 1999 when the
Territorial Army was re-organised. Pictured after the ceremony are front:
(L to R): Major Alan Wall TD, President of the Alnwick Branch, Stephen
Baron, Jeff Pritchard and Alan Mole, Chairman of the Alnwick Branch.
Behind the standard are other former members of the 6th Battalion who
all served in the Territorial Army based in Alnwick." |
